Retrofit services

Every stage of retrofit, coordinated by specialists.

Engage one discipline or the whole journey. Either way you get the same rigour — risk-informed data, buildable design and evidence that stands up to audit.

REF 01

Retrofit Coordination

End-to-end PAS 2035 coordination that carries a project from risk assessment and improvement planning through installation to lodgement, with responsibilities and evidence defined at every stage.

What’s included

Risk pathway and intended outcomes

Medium-term improvement planning

Design and measure review

Evidence requirements

Installation-stage oversight

Non-conformance management

Post-installation evaluation

TrustMark lodgement support

REF 02

Retrofit Assessments

Whole-dwelling assessment and energy performance reporting that establish accurate property, ventilation and occupancy data to inform compliant design decisions.

What’s included

Whole-dwelling condition and risk survey

Occupancy and ventilation assessment

Energy performance report and modelling

Improvement options and intended outcomes

REF 03

Retrofit Design

Fabric-first retrofit design and technical detailing, developed around how measures are actually installed so they perform as intended and avoid rework on site.

What’s included

Fabric-first measure specification

Junction, interface and ventilation detailing

Buildable, installer-ready drawings

Design review and measure coordination

REF 04

Low-Carbon Technical Design

Heat pump and solar PV system design, sized to the upgraded fabric and integrated with the wider retrofit strategy so low-carbon heat performs efficiently from day one.

What’s included

Common questions

What is retrofit, and how does it work?

Straight answers to the questions housing providers, contractors and delivery partners ask us most.

What is retrofit?

Retrofit means upgrading an existing building to make it warmer, healthier and more energy efficient. In practice that's a fabric-first approach — insulation, airtightness and ventilation — combined with low-carbon heat such as an air-source heat pump.

A coordinated, PAS 2035 process makes sure these measures work together safely, rather than being installed in isolation where one can undermine another.

What is PAS 2035 and do I need it?

PAS 2035 is the UK standard for whole-house domestic retrofit. It is required for most funded works and is best practice for any retrofit, ensuring measures are assessed, designed and installed as a coordinated whole.

Where do you work?

We are based in the Midlands and support retrofit projects and programmes across the UK — for single properties and large-scale programmes alike.

How quickly can you start?

Most assessments can be scoped within a week of an initial conversation. Programme work begins with a housing-stock analysis, so delivery is planned around your timelines and funding.
